Welcome back to the Traders Network on Equities. I’m sitting here with a Valentin Preobrazhenskiy, the founder of LAtoken and the chief host of the blockchain economic forum. Valentine, welcome.
Valentin Preobrazhenskiy (Founder, LAToken): 00:18
Hi. Thanks for inviting me.
Matt Bird (Show Host,Traders Network Show: 00:21
You know we had a chance to speak outside and before the center was called, it was very, it was very cold. We moved here. I am too. You’ve such an amazing background and I want to thank you for the time to sit here and have a little chat to get to know you and, and I, you know, let’s, let’s start from the top. I think there’s a lot of people who would like to know about the man who’s, who’s changing the world right now and, and more than just in crypto, but on a social impact side. So, you know, what everybody knows about you so far is that you come from an investment banking background.
Valentin Preobrazhenskiy (Founder, LAToken):00:58
I was a hedge fund manager for Equities back for their worst of $200 million Strasser and equities before the market collapsed. Then I went into startups and created a Heights, fans infrastructure. How am I going to market place? And eventually I came to blockchain and my 200 meetups to find idea and teammates for global technology firm, which can change most powerful market, it’s capital market.
Matt Bird (Show Host,Traders Network Show: 01:38
From the moment you started LAtoken to now, tell us about the journey that you went through.
Valentin Preobrazhenskiy (Founder, LAToken):
Something like, two years ago, I get to an idea oppressional real estate can be linked to tokens and this
token can be traded on the secondary market. And then I get into idea that there could be, as I said, classes and in particular currencies, which is now second biggest user case after cryptocurrencies. So now it’s an emergence of a stable coins. These tokens make a life here at currencies. And we are creating this market for tokenize it mining so you can exchange any fee at currency token at a very small spread and send it transport which was a big change for transport the markets.
Matt Bird (Show Host,Traders Network Show: 02:12
At somewhere along that, that path you want from an idea to this explosion of a movement you have right now. I mean, you have as like Tim Draper, you have presidents of foreign countries, you have economic ministers, you’ve got the amount of momentum that you’ve generated. What was the precipice point to get you from an idea? Is it a lot of entrepreneurs? I’m an, I’m an entrepreneur is in fact I think almost any, every high net worth investor has is on some levels in entrepreneur, their investing style is entrepreneurial. What was that precipice point that, that you turned when it went from an idea to, this is becoming more to where you’re at right now? Hosting what’s here in Davos, Switzerland, World Economic Forum is the biggest thing off after WEF itself.
Valentin Preobrazhenskiy (Founder, LAToken):03:17
No, my success is a token or is there in a big part due to 200 mid-caps, which I organize it to find ideas and teammates to find the business model of all a token and this meetups in your rated Samsung, like certain businesses and a 2000 community of people who knows each other and help us shout out. And I saw an opportunity that they’re now influential people in governments, in financial system, regulators, investors, entrepreneurs and if to put them in the kind of help them to discuss this technology. This can be a big change.
Matt Bird (Show Host,Traders Network Show: 04:31
I would love to switch to something that I’m very passionate about. Which is your social impact initiatives. I find we, you know, when we were talking earlier, you touched on some amazing things that you, that you have ambitions wise. Why don’t you tell, tell us a little bit about that?
Valentin Preobrazhenskiy (Founder, LAToken):04:54
First there’s a technology which can itself minus social problems of each arm under management by today. It’s very important to enforce rules to enforce a and have contracts walking. And but it works not everywhere. There are is something like 3 billion people who live in countries where buying can, business is not a viable because there are institutions are weak and that’s, banks cannot get their loans back. And they’re huge frictions, huge transaction costs. It’s why there is no banks branches and people can open accounts.
Valentin Preobrazhenskiy (Founder, LAToken):05:36
They can’t get loans from banks, they get very high interest micro loans so, and they cannot invest in them self and their education in their business, in their kind of minimal problems which are needed to boost their productivity and blockchains allows them to get access via internet. We are mobile that was available for, for most of these people. They can get access to the new financial system which leaves in computers without human processing of transactions. And that’s why this people can control themselves. One on why this computer to control their accounts and use this currency. And we are developing this technology you’ve want this people to get access to loans, to capital so they can get money for their groves or invest and give loans to others who need this money more and can create greater return.
Valentin Preobrazhenskiy (Founder, LAToken):06:55
And this, this is a something just could be life changes from millennium hundreds of millions of people. And this also is applicable to other institutions such as elections if a them politicians those who try to protect property rights and free markets can consolidate worlds of adults who benefit from this and show the result of this world a, this could be a change in poverty and move where developing car countries from the power game or for kind of dictatorships of chronic capitalism to rule off local true protected property rights and free markets, which is a basis for incentives to create products rather than to build force to seize assets from others or to protect themselves. It’s very different actually.
Matt Bird (Show Host,Traders Network Show: 08:17
We’re going to cut to commercial break. When we come back for that commercial break, they’re going to get to know a little bit more about you, where you grew up what your favorite color is, what you, some of your strengths, what are some of your weaknesses. But before then there was something that you mentioned about what you do with your panels that I personally found really interesting that I think other CEOs out there that are watching this may actually incorporate into their panels, which was you, you, you request that the panel speakers include initiatives that they are undertaking and share those stories. Is that correct?
Valentin Preobrazhenskiy (Founder, LAToken):08:44
Yes. I ask people to share their big dreams, to find a support, to find feedback, to bring them into reality and just works?
Matt Bird (Show Host,Traders Network Show: 08:55
Oh, you know what, I am going to be doing that in any round tables that I do but move forward. So I think that’s a great idea. You’re watching the Traders Network Show on Equities. I’m Matt Bird. We’re here with Valentin Preobrazhenskiy and we’re going to learn a little bit more about him and who he is as a man and a person. We’ll be right back, don’t go away.
